Welcome to our website, here you can find information about the ‘Together We Matter’ workshops and consultancy service. We are two bereaved mums whose children were born with incurable medical conditions. We, together with several other families, contributed our stories to the ‘Lives Worth Living’ book, by Janet Cotter.

It was from this experience that we decided to develop a programme of half day interactive workshops based on the issues arising from the stories in the book .These we felt would provide insight into the challenges facing the families and be beneficial to those working with children with life -shortening conditions, as well as other Health Care Professionals.

Being a family with a life-limited child is challenging and at times devastating, but the experience can also be incredibly rewarding. We are extremely grateful to all those involved in this field and it is our intention that our workshops and the books will help to encourage meaningful discussions between professionals and families with the aim of improving children’s palliative care and bereavement services.

Lives Worth Living is a collection of true stories written by 15 families, which tell of the joys and pain of caring for their children with life-limiting conditions.

The other book you will find here, ‘Courage is Compulsory‘ is written by three young people who have proved that life really does have limitless possibilities when you are living with a life-shortening condition.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch - a smile - a kind word - a listening ear - an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
